The Soviet 6x6 army truck ZiL-131 was developed at the Likhachev Moscow Automobile Plant in the 1960s and was produced until 2002. Almost a million trucks (998,429 units) were produced. The vehicle was unified with the ZiL-130, simplifying maintenance and repairs. The ZiL-31 combined good off-road capability, reliability, driver comfort, and moderate fuel consumption on the move. It served in the Soviet army and civil service. Truck actively used by various services, including the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The ZiL-131 was also exported to dozens of countries worldwide.
